Student Clubs

At Maharishi International University, students can engage in a diverse array of clubs and activities that reflect their varied backgrounds, interests, and talents. From international student organizations to sports, language, and dance clubs, there’s something for everyone!

Club Guidance and Support

Each club is guided by a dedicated MIU staff/ faculty representative who provides active support and mentorship. Clubs may apply for funding to support their activities through student activity fees administered by the MIU Student Government.

How to Form a Club

Starting a club is easy! Simply complete the Club Application and carefully review the expectations and responsibilities associated with running a club.

  • Activity-Related Clubs: If your club focuses on activities like rugby, dance, or soccer, your faculty advisor must be Ken Daley, Chairperson of the Exercise and Sport Science Department. All members will also need to sign a Liability Waiver Form.

Policies

Student clubs and organizations must receive permission from the MIU Student Government and the Department of Student Life before meeting on campus, advertising, or using University facilities for activities or events. All clubs must align with the University’s mission and comply with its policies and procedures.

Need Funding for Your Club?

If your club requires financial assistance, here are some important guidelines:

  • Supporting Documentation: All funding requests must include documentation verifying prices from multiple vendors. For example, if seeking funding for t-shirts, a price quote from the t-shirt company is required.
  • Funding Limitations: Generally, we do not fund travel, scholarships, or fundraisers. Funds are allocated to events that benefit the broader student body.
  • Budget Preparation Suggestions:
  • Seek input from club members.
  • Plan for the next academic year while formulating club goals and determining financial needs.
  • Follow guidelines in preparing a detailed yet concise budget.
  • Ensure accuracy and realism in your requests, asking only for necessary funds.
  • Meet all scheduled deadlines and prepare to justify proposed expenditures.

Each funded organization is expected to generate a portion of its budget through fundraising. Be prepared to present your budget to the Student Government if requested.
