Graduation 2025 Schedule of Events

Cap and Gown Pick up

(You only have to attend one)
Wednesday, June 18 & Thursday, June 19
Cap and Gown pick up time is anytime between: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Location: Dreier Building, Lower Level, Room 12

During the pick-up, you will also receive essential information about the graduation ceremony and other events. Please attend one of the sessions. If you are unable to attend, please contact us at graduation@miu.edu to arrange an alternative pick-up time.

Graduation Rehearsal
Friday, June 20th at 1:00 pm at the Men’s Dome on the MIU campus. Attendance at the rehearsal is mandatory for all graduating students. During the rehearsal, we will go over the procession, seating arrangements, and other important details about the ceremony. Please attend to avoid confusion or delays on the day of the ceremony.

Graduation Banquet/formally Garden Party

To be held on Friday, June 20 at 6:15 pm.  The Graduation Banquet will be held at Annapurna Dining Hall (inside the Argiro Building). You will receive your garden party tickets at the cap and gown meetings (3 tickets per student – 1 for the student + 2 for guests).

Awards Ceremony

(Graduation Banquest ticket will be your ticket to get in the award ceremony)
Friday, June 20 from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm in Dalby Hall in the Argiro Student Center

Class Picture

Saturday, June 21 at 10:00 am we will have a professional photographer for a class picture
Location: Amphitheater in front of Argiro, (weather permitting). Otherwise, it will be moved to the Argiro lobby. The professional photographer will also be taking photos at the commencement. Digital proofs are free, and (5×7) prints are $9.95. The photos will be emailed 4-5 days after graduation.

Graduation Commencement
Saturday, June 21 at 1:00 pm at the Men’s Dome on the MIU campus.

  • Students are required to arrive at least an hour before commencement to avoid any delays.
  • Please be seated in your designated location by 12:30 pm at the latest! The doors will be closed by 12:30 pm (30 minutes before the ceremony starts).
  • Please wear your graduation gown, cap, and any other academic regalia required for the ceremony.
  • Commencement Speaker: We are thrilled to announce that our graduation speaker this year will be Kailash Satyarthi, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for his work in freeing children from forced labor and trafficking. He has rescued more than 130,000 children and has made child labor a prominent global human rights issue. Graduation Dance Party 2025

Join us for the Graduation Dance Party on June 21st at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. All MIU students, both continuing and graduating, are invited to celebrate the end of the academic year at the annual Graduation Dance Party (aka “Grad Ball”).

  • This year’s theme is “Night in Atlantis”. The dance will be from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am. Formal dress and student ID are required for entry. There will be a shuttle running between campus and FACC from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am. Students will be receiving a personal invitation with more details (music, food) in the coming weeks.
  • Each graduating student may request one guest by submitting the official registration form by June 19, 2025. Guests must be 18+ and show valid photo ID at entry. If you do not, have a student ID and you are on campus for commencement, we are sending a list to the Dance Party committee, so you are eligible to enter.  Student Activities may deny entry or remove any attendee or guest for any reason, including policy violations or safety concerns.
